Btw, it says a lot about you that you can find something so nice to say about coloured stripes....! lol (There is complexity, but how many people would see it...?!?!) xxx

We're both painters that's why - we understand that there is more to these things than painting stripes. I've always admired your use of colour - it's quite remarkable....

Note, notably received!

Well - I'm glad you think I know what I'm talking about! ;)

Are you coming up to London for the portrait award this year?

Sorry about the note... couldnt not say anything though....!!

Ive always thought you knew what you were talking about, but now more than ever... lol

Would be nice to make the portrait award, have also been thinking it would be good for me to break my routines and put more into trying to find suitable galleries for my stuff too though, so with energy and reseouces being so limited, I'm not sure....

I had thought of coming up to town this Thurs... to check out Portobello Road galleries (specifically Graffik) and then to catch Groupo Lokito at COLF and then I realised that it's 1st Thursday for the trendy east end places..... although that sounds like way too much to do in one day. Do you ever check out the trendy hoxton/hackney places? The new one on Fish Island looks interesting....but generally that whole scene looks very overcrowded to me.
I did catch a Matt Small opening at Black Rat Press cos I love him!! And an old friend/acquaintance of mine is a technician at the Hoxton White Cube - but he is not much help, lol.

The BP still looks good though.... have you checked it yet?

Ah dam it - I didn't see this until now. Did you come into town? Do you have my phone number still? We should defintely try to meet up at some point.

Re: the note - it's been very cathartic talking about it...

Weirdly enough - I did four Hoxton galleries in one day a couple of weekends ago (including the White Cube)... was quite interesting actually, the mix of galleries in the area. I enjoyed it a lot.

Yeah - I have sent his years BP... I think it's interesting but not brilliant (again) - a lot of artists have painted famous people this year as it always seems like a sure way to be included in the show... even considered hitting up some old famous friends from the past myself to give me a better chance of getting in. I think there are over 10 famous sitters this year - it's a shame as the charm of the show before was the ordinary (who are extraordinary) people that get painted.
